How the Boston Heart Risk-Reflex^TM Panel Works

	Check “Risk-Reflex Panel” box on the lab order form
	Standard Advanced Lipid Panel† ordered for the patient:
		If results are normal based on Risk-Reflex™ criteria*
			No additional testing needed
			Fast report turnaround time - 3 days
		If results are abnormal based on Risk-Reflex™ criteria*
			Triggers additional important CV testing:
			Boston Heart HDL MAP™
			Boston Heart Cholesterol Balance Test™
			Normal report turnaround time - 2 weeks
	Reimbursed by all insurance plans

*Risk-Reflex™ criteria:

	Boston Heart HDL Map™:
		CVD (heart disease, stroke and/or PVD) or personal history of diabetes.
		If none of these conditions are present, a HDL-C <45 mg/dL (male) or
		<55 mg/dL (female) or fasting TG of >130 mg/dL or
		a HbA1c >6.5% will trigger testing.
	Boston Heart Cholesterol Balance Test™:
		CVD (heart disease, stroke and/or PVD) or personal history of diabetes.
		If none of these conditions are present, a LDL-C >100 mg/dL or
		sdLDL-C >35 mg/dL or a HbA1c >6.5% will trigger testing.

†NOTE: The Standard Advanced Lipid Panel consists of all tests on our panel minus the
Boston Heart HDL Map™ and the Boston Heart Cholesterol Balance Test™.
