The Framingham Risk Score Calculation

An important tool in determining CHD risk is the Framingham Risk Score Calculation (FRSC).
Click here to calculate it now.

Below are some of the features of the FRSC:
Gender, age, systolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, and HDL cholesterol are used to calculate 10-year risk of heart disease based on the well-known Framingham Heart Study.
Having heart disease automatically places someone at high CHD risk (>20% over 10 years).
The LDL cholesterol goal of treatment in the low risk category (<10% CHD risk over 10 years) is <160 mg/dl.
The LDL cholesterol goal of treatment in the moderate risk category (10-20% CHD risk over 10 years) is <130 mg/dl.
The LDL cholesterol goal of treatment in the high risk category (>20% CHD risk over 10 years) is <100 mg/dl.  For CHD patients, an optional goal of <70 mg/dl is recommended.

Boston Heart Lab calculates the FRSC for every patient that gets the “Complete Cardiac Risk Panel”. The score is then reported in the personalized book that you will receive to give your patient.
